Spell Check and Grammar Check
Fortunately, technology has come a long way in helping writers look good on paper. Unfortunately, they can't and don't do it all, and it's important for writers to know which "corrections" are, in fact, correct. This link describes a poem which was written to demonstrate the limitations of spell check.

Even though it may sometimes seem as though the rules of grammar are carved in stone, there is some room for debate. Remember, too, that there can be differences in rules and in pronunciation of English, depending on where a person lives.
